What to expect next from the National Centre for Computing Education

We're delighted to have entered an exciting new chapter for the National Centre for Computing Education, following renewed funding by the Department for Education for STEM Learning to deliver the next phase of the programme.

To mark this exciting milestone, we thought it would be a good idea to highlight some new developments we've launched and what we have planned for 2023.

Introducing our new brand

You might have noticed that we've had a makeover on our website and social media channels! Over the last few months, we have been working hard to design a new brand for the National Centre that represents who we are – and our vision for the future.

As the home of computing education, we wanted to ensure that our brand aligns with our programmes and to instil a more contemporary look and feel across our platforms, which include:

Learning pathways

Our CPD team have been quality-assuring our professional development courses to deliver the best experience possible for you. As a result, we have made some improvements to our Subject knowledge certificate pathways to better guide teachers to their accreditation.

Streamlined online course booking

We've just launched our new online course offer - now hosted on the MyLearning platform. This has enabled us to create a seamless booking journey across our CPD programme and means you no longer need a separate account to book an online course.

There's never been a better time to complete your qualification with us. Following our brand refresh, our Primary, Subject knowledge and Secondary teacher certificates, and the Computing Quality Framework have all had a design makeover! Take a sneak peek below:

This is the first phase in improving our certificates and we have more updates coming later this year.

What's new for Isaac Computer science

Our Isaac teacher and student events will be back soon and better than ever! In the meantime, did you know that Isaac offers full coverage of the AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas, OCR, and WJEC exam board specifications? It's the perfect place to direct students to help them revise for GCSE and A level exams, with information and questions for each topic in one place, completely free of charge.
