Stories around GCSE results are currently dominating the news in the run-up to the new academic year. Several news outlets, including the Guardian, have reported on the popularity of computing - with more students choosing to study it than PE for the first time. Computer Weekly has also reported an increase in the number of girls taking the subject at GCSE.

How to support teaching at GCSE
If you're looking to develop or refresh your computing knowledge, the Computer Science Accelerator can help you or your colleagues to teach this high-demand subject at GCSE. All courses are free for teachers in state-funded education and trainee, supply and returning teachers. Subsidies are also available to state-funded schools and colleges for supply cover to support teachers to participate in CPD during the school day.
